Hello gentlemen, I enjoy your blogs. Gulfcoastpoker.com is a site that I believe fellow bloggers will love. It is in no way a copy of Gulfcoastpoker.net. I wish you gentlemen good luck with your site and invite you to be a part of ours as well. We will be up and running shortly and are excited to what this site will bring to local poker players.

By you posting this on my blog you have now convinced me...beyond a reasonable doubt...That you indeed stole our idea for the site. If you would have just went ahead and built your site and said nothing then I would have had to wonder whether someone else may have just had the same idea as me. We wanted the domain name gulfcoastpoker.com, and now you have it. My blog will be a testament to the whole world that you guys have been "Lurking" on my site and that you guys pulled a "Fast One" by getting the domain name right when it became available ...while I was in Vegas actually playing in the WSOP. Do you even play on the Gulf Coast?

On a positive note, we are adding another blog to the site today. Please come check out Big Ray's blog. He is considered one of the more aggressive players in the New Orleans/Gulf Coast region. He is widely known in the poker circles and highly respected. He spent the entire first day of the Main Event in New Orleans sitting next to Gavin Smith. This is the one where Gavin got 2nd to Peter Feldman...He played his heart out. You can check out his blog at ...(Drum Roll starts up in the background)... www.gulfcoastpoker.net ....Bo Ya....

I want to assure everyone that we all live, and play on the gulf coast. We will be traveling and bringing feedback, poker hands, logic, theory...etc from cash games and tournaments from the
Isle of Capri in Lake Charles around to the Hard Rock in Tampa. You will get a look at what it is like "In the trenches" on the gulf coast. I will post later about my tournament last night at the Gold Strike.

I think this is what it might have taken to get us motivated. Someone trying to come in and backdoor us on our idea. We are meeting with the lawyers next Monday, and with the apparel company on Wednesday. We all will be wearing Gulfcoastpoker.net gear in our next tournaments.

"I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fail... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. This day, we fight!" Viggo Mortenson's character Aragon in "Lord of the Rings"

wow, haven't had time to post lately, but looks like i missed out on some excitement. Well, GeneD if this person did steal your idea, then that straight up bites, i knew you had mentioned it it a few times and i figured it was a matter of time until you got the ball rolling, but it seems like someone is trying to get credit for you and wild Bill's work. I hope you'll can solve this problem with some legal action like you stated. Me being from Jasper Texas, i don't think I am even considered Gulf South but i was still eager to see what you guys offered since I do travel the coast on occasion for some cards when job permits. Well good luck and I will be following GULFCOASTPOKER.NET for now until you get this straight. Good luck and keep your ideas to yourself, there are to many deadheads out here looking to make a name for themselves anyway they can. And don't forget the old saying
"You snooze, you lose"

I hopfully will be able to get up to the Beau Rivage the last wek of August and be able to play in some of the WPT tourney, maybe I can finally meet up with you and your crew

Hi there,

I'm the owner of Gulfcoastpoker.com. I'd like to take a moment to set the record straight about our site.

Contrary to your assumptions, I did not "steal" your idea. I realized the need for an informative and community-based site for Gulf Coast players late last year.

I orignally attempted to register Gulfcoastpoker.com and .net, only to find that they were registered, but with no sites. I then registered Gulfcoastpokerclub.com instead and began building my site.

Recently, I decided to recheck both Gulfcoastpoker.com and .net to see if anything had changed. I found that the .com was available and registered it. Subsequently, I stumbled upon your site.

I see that you have a very similar vision and want to bring value to gulf coast players, which I commend you for. I even thought about contacting you for consideration of a partnership between us.

Whatever course you choose, please do not resort to insulting my character. I think ultimately we both want to provide a great site, build community amoung area players, and become better at poker.

I look forward to your response.

-Kevin

Yea, its a free market fellas. Plenty enough to go around for everybody. Just too bad we are not in the old .com days where we could all make millions.
